Dave Desmelik is a singer/songwriter and instrumentalist based in Brevard, North Carolina USA. He is a seasoned veteran in the DIY music business with 11 full-length albums of original material to his credit. What attracts listeners to Desmelik’s tunes, old and new, is the element of authenticity incorporated in them. There is no sugar coating involved. His songs are not wrapped in false smiles, rather they are stark and open and tend to settle on the pulse of everyday life.

Nolan McKelvey is a singer/songwriter and musician based in Phoenix, Arizona USA. He has released 5 albums under his name as well as 5 albums with his band Muskellunge covering an expansive musical career. McKelvey has covered nearly every corner of the country and traversed all roads of Americana. From the pavement of alt-country, to the dusty trails of bluegrass, to the gravel roads of outlaw-country, to the interstate highway of straight up rock-n-roll, he has traveled over a ton of ground and received critical acclaim along the way.

Nolan and Dave met in 1994 in Flagstaff, Arizona at an open mic night. There was an immediate musical kinship and soon after they were writing, singing, and performing as a duo. They leaned on each other for advice and support, and grew up together in music. Nolan and Dave played in various bands together too, the most notable being newgrass/jam band Onus B. Johnson. OBJ achieved a considerable level of success, but eventually life happened and they found themselves on different sides of the country. All the while, Nolan and Dave remained great friends and often spoke of one day making a duo record. After more than 20 years of talk, that time has come to pass and the result is Where It Takes Us. This album is not the songwriting culmination of 23 years, rather this is a recent batch of songs written and recorded with 23 years of music, friendship, experience, and support behind them.
